Two quarter time positions: The selected applicants will work with persons with developmental disabilities of all ages within various group activities such as arts & crafts, respite events, youth activities, swimming, dancing, family gatherings, etc. Duties at these activities will include some supervision, interaction with participants, and volunteer assistance. Some record keeping, designing flyers, preparing maps, helping with the Arc newsletter, etc. The ideal candidates will assist with planning and helping with activities which include: summer youth activities, Swim Club, Challenger Baseball, Friday afternoon clubs, Saturday morning crafts, one on one recreational outings, and other special events. Many of the hours would be flexible. Must have excellent driving record, as some transportation is required. Registry check is also required. The Arc office is located at the First Presbyterian Church at 6511 Sixth Ave, across from the YMCA.

This program serves students, predominately from low-income families and/or disadvantaged circumstances, providing a safe and enriching learning environment 5 days a week from 3-6pm.
Eighty plus students from the UNK Teacher Education program alone provide 1200 hours of service annually at the Center sites which are hosted at 5 elementary schools in Kearney.
In addition to the coordination, Members will also help to provide tutoring, mentoring and companionship in direct service to the elementary students.

The Audubon Rowe Sanctuary near Gibbon, invites a Resource Mobilization Specialist to serve as a half-time AmeriCorps member.
Housing will be provided on-site at the Sanctuary. In addition, the member will receive a $2,500 living stipend and an $1800 educational award at the end of their service commitment.
The Rowe Sanctuary is located directly on the Platte River, where millions of ducks and geese and 500,000 Sandhill Cranes stage during their annual migrations.
The AmeriCorps member will be responsible for numerous tasks including: Coordinating Service-Learning and Research students from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and/or Hastings College; volunteer recruitment and coordination; and assist with fundraising.
To assist Rowe Sanctuary in their attempts to build relationships among the Hispanic communities of Nebraska, bi-lingual individuals (Spanish/English) are encouraged to apply.
